Ingredients

  • 1 pinch Black Pepper
  • 4 slices Cheddar Cheese or Emmental cheese
  • 1 clove Garlic chopped
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 - Lime zest and juice
  • 4 tsp Mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 4 - SuperValu Burger Buns
  • 1 bunch SuperValu Fresh Coriander leaves only
  • 1 - SuperValu Granny Smith Apples grated
  • 500 g SuperValu Quality Irish Minced Pork
  • 1 pinch SuperValu Salt
  • 4 tbsp SuperValu Signature Tastes Roasted Red Pepper Relish

Method

  1. Combine the minced pork, apple, garlic, lime zest and juice and cinnamon in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Gently form the meat into four burgers. Press a 1cm indentation into the centre of each burger with your thumb to prevent the burgers from bulging when grilled.
  2. Preheat a griddle pan to medium.
  3. Brush the burgers with a little oil, then cook for 5 to 6 minutes on each side, turning once. Add the cheese when the pork burgers are just cooked to let it melt slightly.
  4. Lightly toast the burger buns on both sides, then begin to build your burger by spreading 1 teaspoon of mayonnaise on each base bun. Add some coriander leaves and top with a pork burger, a tablespoon of red pepper relish and the remaining burger bun. Serve immediately.
