Cooking this ham in the slow cooker means you'll save valuable oven space since you're only cooking the ham in the oven for 25 minutes.
1. Pop your ham in the slow cooker with your ginger beer, Buckfast, star anise, bay leaves, peppercorns, and sliced oranges, and cook on high for 6 hours or until it hits 75 degrees on your meat probe.
2. Discard ham liquid and allow to cool. Then preheat your oven to 180°C.
3. Whisk together your treacle, mustard, and sugar into a paste.
4. Remove the skin on your ham leaving some of the fat behind and score into diamond shapes. Baste the ham with the paste.
5. Bake it in the oven for a good 25 minutes until it's golden brown. In the meantime, keep brushing with leftover glaze constantly.
6. Remove from the oven, allow to cool, slice, and serve with your favourite sides. Smiles all around.
