Ingredients
2tbspBlack Treacle
240mlCider Vinegar
1tspGround Ginger
100gSuperValu Brown Sugar
400gSuperValu Chopped Tomatoes
1clovesSuperValu Garlic
finely crushed
60mlsSuperValu Olive Oil
1 - SuperValu Onion
finely chopped
1tbspSuperValu Paprika
2tbspSuperValu Soy Sauce
2tbspSuperValu Tomato Purée
1tbspWholegrain Mustard
1tbspWorcestershire Sauce
Method
Makes 4 x 200ml
Heat the oil in a large, heavy based frying pan.
Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened then pour in the tin of tomatoes.
Add the paprika and ginger, and cook for a further 2 – 3 minutes.
Stir in the mustard, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, treacle and sugar then cook until reduced and thickened, add some water if necessary.
Pour into sterilised jar and secure lids. Store up to 1 month in the fridge.
