Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Black Treacle
  • 240 ml Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 100 g SuperValu Brown Sugar
  • 400 g SuperValu Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 cloves SuperValu Garlic finely crushed
  • 60 mls SuperValu Olive Oil
  • 1 - SuperValu Onion finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp SuperValu Paprika
  • 2 tbsp SuperValu Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp SuperValu Tomato Purée
  • 1 tbsp Wholegrain Mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

Method

Makes 4 x 200ml
  1. Heat the oil in a large, heavy based frying pan.
  2. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened then pour in the tin of tomatoes.
  3. Add the paprika and ginger, and cook for a further 2 – 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in the mustard, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, treacle and sugar then cook until reduced and thickened, add some water if necessary.
Pour into sterilised jar and secure lids. Store up to 1 month in the fridge.
