The World Steak Challenge Awards took place in Hyde Park London on Sept 22nd where 83 steaks were entered from 17 countries including Ireland, Brazil, New Zealand, Australia and USA. Products included specialised breeder entries such as Japanese-origin Waygu, Angus cross breeds in addition to a range of Retail products. All Steaks were assessed by an Expert Panel which included Chefs and Food Writers. Products were then given a rating based on raw / cooked appearance and overall taste. The SuperValu Signature Taste Striploin was awarded a Bronze medal. It was produced by Kepak from Hereford animals that are bred and raised under ideal conditions followed by a selection and maturation process that ensures excellent eating qualities. This Award is the first occasion where a SuperValu product has achieved Global recognition and reflects the continuing dedication to the highest Quality Standards by SuperValu and our suppliers.
