This luscious burger requires preparation time but the steps are simple, you can also do it with Pork or Chicken. It’s a truly satisfying festive fake away and a great way to use up leftovers.
Using two pieces of cling film, cover the turkey steaks, hammering them out flat. I use a meat hammer but you can also use a rolling pin. When flat, soak in buttermilk for 24 hours, this will tenderise the turkey and it won’t go dry.
After 24hours, make up the drench - and use to coat the Turkey steaks. Make sure they are well covered and allow to sit for ten minutes.
Cook your stuffing and roasties according packet instructions with your gravy, or use leftovers - ideal!
Heat your deep fryer. Alternatively you can shallow fry the steaks in vegetable oil, ensuring they are covered in oil or try in an airfryer, until fully cooked and reaching a core temperature of 75°C. Place on a cooling rack to maximise the crispy vibes.
Now it's time to build your burger.
Add cranberry sauce, spuds and then your crispy turkey, roll your stuffing in gravy and place on top add a few leafs to garnish, now that is the ultimate Dinner Burger.
