1tbspCinnamon
50mlCream
1 - Egg
2tspGround Cinnamon
200mlMilk
65gPlain Flour
100gSuperValu Dark Chocolate
(chopped)
1tspVanilla Extract
120mlWater
Method
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and spray some oil.
In a saucepan, place the water, butter, caster sugar and vanilla extract.
Bring to the boil and immediately add the flour. Remove from the heat and stir the flour until the mixture comes together and has the texture of a smooth ball.
Transfer the dough to a bowl. Beat in the egg until the dough comes together and smooth.
Fill a large piping bag fitted with a large star-shaped tip.
Pipe the churros onto the greased basket into 6cm lengths, cut end with scissors if needed, leaving about 2-3 mm space between churros.
Preheat the air fryer to 180˚C.
Spray some oil over the churros. Air fry for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
In the meantime, in a shallow bowl, combine leftover caster sugar and cinnamon.
Next, prepare the hot chocolate dipping sauce. In a saucepan, bring the milk, cream, 1 tbsp caster sugar and ½ tsp cinnamon to the boil.
Remove from the heat, and stir in the chopped chocolate until smooth, adding extra milk to reach a lightly coating consistency. Put to one side, keeping warm and covered.
Immediately transfer baked churros to the bowl with the sugar mixture and toss to coat.
