Veronica Steele began making Farmhouse Cheese in 1978.
The cheese is handmade on the Beara peninsula in West Cork from the milk of a single local herd. It is the rugged and diverse grazing found on the Bear peninsula that creates the complex and delicate flavour and the native bacteria that creates the powerful aroma that is Milleens. It is is a natural cheese that varies with the seasons.
