Job description:

Main purpose of the role:
Ensure that the goods received to the store are effectively managed at the point of receipt. Maintain the stock room, manage returns and ensure HACCP and Health & Safety standards are adhered to.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • HACCP knowledge is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise duties
  • Strong attention to detail, organised and flexible
  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous stock management experience is desirable.

    Main duties:

  • Check and record goods inwards against delivery docket received
  • Keep back stores area secure by controlling the movement of suppliers in goods receiving area
  • Submit all invoice/delivery documentation to the relevant person on a daily basis
  • Adhere to stocktaking procedures
  • Maintain correct storage and documentation of returns
  • Manage the breakdown, storage and return of combis
  • Deal with all transactions with customers and suppliers in a professional manner
  • Adhere to waste disposal procedures at all times
  • Follow store security procedures.

    Job Description:

    Goods Inwards Assistant - Full Time

    SuperValu in Naas is looking for a reliable and organised Goods Inwards Assistant to join the team. This is a full-time role offering up to 39 hours per week. The successful candidate will play an important part in keeping stock accurate, fresh, and ready for customers each day. This position suits someone who enjoys early starts, works well in a busy environment, and takes pride in maintaining high standards. You will work closely with the store team to ensure all deliveries are checked, stored, and processed correctly. The role offers stable working hours, supportive colleagues, and opportunities to grow within the business.

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    This role is important to the daily operation of the store. You will help manage deliveries and support stock control across different departments. The position requires attention to detail and good communication skills. You should be comfortable working independently and as part of a team. A positive attitude and strong work ethic will help you succeed in this role.

    • Receive and check daily deliveries against delivery notes and invoices.
    • Ensure stock is stored safely and correctly in line with company standards.
    • Maintain clean and organised stockrooms and delivery areas.
    • Support departments with stock replenishment when required.
    • Report damaged or missing goods to management promptly.

    Skills and Knowledge

    We are looking for someone dependable who can work efficiently in a fast-paced retail setting. Experience in retail, warehouse, or stock handling is helpful, but full training will be provided. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with physical work and early morning shifts. Strong organisation and teamwork skills are important for this position.

    • Ability to work from 5:00am and manage early morning routines effectively.
    • Good attention to detail when checking deliveries and stock levels.
    • Ability to lift and move stock safely during deliveries.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Previous retail or goods inwards experience is an advantage.
