Main purpose of the role:
Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction is the number one priority. Interact with each customer with great pride, passion and care and inspire shoppers through knowledge and expertise.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Previous customer service experience is an advantage.

    Main Purpose of the Job

    To support the efficient and effective operation of the Provisions and Dairy Departments while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining the highest standards of fresh food quality, hygiene, presentation, and availability at all times.

    Relevant Skills / Experience

    • Previous experience in a fresh food or retail environment is desirable;
    • Strong customer service and communication skills;
    • Good organisational skills and attention to detail;
    • Ability to work well as part of a team and use own initiative;
    • Willingness to learn and develop new skills;
    • Passion for fresh food and quality standards.

    Main Duties

    • Deliver exceptional customer service at all times by greeting customers warmly and consistently demonstrating I-CARE service excellence behaviours;
    • Assist customers with product queries in a friendly, helpful and professional manner.
    • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety in line with HACCP requirements;
    • Ensure shelves, displays and chillers are fully stocked, rotated correctly and attractively presented at all times;
    • Follow correct stock rotation procedures to minimize waste and ensure freshness;
    • Assist with deliveries, stock control and stocktaking as required;
    • Support the Provisions Manager in achieving department sales targets, waste targets and other KPIs;
    • Ensure accurate pricing, labelling and promotional displays in accordance with store guidelines and planograms;
    • Wear full uniform and name badge at all times and maintain a neat and professional appearance;
    • Work cooperatively with colleagues to maintain a positive and productive team environment;
    • Follow all store rules, policies and procedures, including health & safety and food safety regulations;
    • Report any equipment faults, stock issues, or health and safety concerns promptly to management;
    • Handle customer queries politely and refer to management where necessary;
    • Participate in training and development opportunities as required;
    • Assist in maintaining the overall presentation and standards of the department during trading hours;
    • Support department initiatives to achieve operational efficiencies and quality standards.
    • Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Provisions Manager or Store Owner, including assisting in other departments when required.
