Main purpose of the role:
Ensure the Off-Licence operates efficiently and effectively at all times and provides customers with excellent quality products and services

The ideal candidate will have/be:
- 2 years` experience in a Supervisor/Manager role is desirable
- Completion of WSET Level 2 or an alternative wine course is desirable
- A good knowledge of wine, craft beer and premium spirits
- Creative
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to engage with and prioritise customer needs
- Strong attention to detail, organised and flexible
- Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Main Duties:
- Actively live SuperValu brand-values i.e. Genuine, Passion for Food, Vibrant, Committed, Innovative and Imaginative
- Drive sales through KPI reports, financial reports, brand initiatives, customer initiatives and employee knowledge
- Adhere to weekly stocktaking procedures and ensure they are accurate and any necessary action is taken in the Off-Licence
- Ensure purchasing of stock is carried out in accordance with procedures and control of stock rotation, so that the quality of goods is of the highest order so as to maximise turnover
- Merchandise and present the department to the highest standard at all times and in accordance with relevant store planograms and guidelines
- Monitor and control department overheads (i.e. packaging, cleaning equipment etc.)
- Enhance product knowledge by gaining information from a range of sources and share ideas, suggestions, builds on existing procedures/processes with employees and management
- Ensure all staff reporting to you are competent in any duties required and are given adequate training relevant to their tasks.

Off-licence Duty Manager Opportunity at Moriarty`s Super Valu, Palmerstown, Dublin 20.

The Moriarty Group is an Irish owned company involved in both the Retail Grocery and Hospitality Industries. The company`s portfolio currently comprises of three large Super Valu Supermarkets in Balbriggan and Skerries in North County Dublin and Palmerstown, Dublin 20. The company also owns two 4* Hotels, the Bracken Court Hotel, Balbriggan, North County Dublin and the Courtyard Hotel, Leixlip, Co. Kildare. The company currently employee`s approximately 550 people.

The Moriarty Group of Super Valu's are 3 of the largest Super Valu stores in the Dublin area. We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Off-Licence Duty Manager to join our management team in our Palmerstown store.

If you have previous experience working as an Off-Licence Manager (covering duty management shifts) and if you share our passion and enthusiasm for customer care this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

The Role:

The Off-Licence Duty Manager role will be a full-time position working an average of 45 hours per week, 5 days over 7 to include day shifts, evening shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of the off-licence department.
  • Merchandising and display.
  • Work in conjunction with store manager on achieving budgets and targets.
  • Stock Ordering.
  • Stocktakes
  • Covering keyholder duties i.e., covering early and late duty management shifts in the store (1-2 days of your 5 days per week).
  • Ensure Service Excellence is provided to all customers.
  • Ensure legal compliance with all legislation relevant to the department/store.
  • Staff Training and development.
  • Working with the Store Managers on ensuring the implementation of company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure excellent hygiene/HACCP practices in the off-licence department/area.

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 2/3 years` experience as an off-licence manager in a busy retail store or independent off-licence - this experience is essential.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years store management experience at Senior Trainee/Assistant Manager level.
  • Must have excellent product knowledge of wines/beers/spirits.
  • Previous experience working as a manager/head of department within a large supermarket is desirable.
  • Must be available for the shifts required.
  • Must have excellent product knowledge and knowledge of the drinks industry in general.
  • Must have a good knowledge of the retail grocery industry.
  • Must have strong people skills.
  • Must have strong organisational skills.
  • Must have a proven track record in customer care/service.
  • Must have an excellent command of the English language both written and verbal.
  • Must have the ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
