Susan Mc Laughlin started making dessert sauces from her home kitchen just over a year ago, they have gone from strength to strength since then.
Food is something that I’ve always had a big interest in, whether it was baking or cooking. After having come back to Donegal from living in Dublin for some years I decide it was time for me to create a job for myself doing something I loved. I live in the Inishowen Peninsula on the Wild Atlantic Way near Malin Head at the most northerly point in Ireland, although that in itself would have been enough to keep me here.
Having a product that has all-natural ingredients with no additives or preservatives is important for our wellbeing. Only top-quality ingredients such as cream from Donegal Creameries and Kerrygold Pure Butter are used. For those that are Gluten intolerant the sauces are Gluten free. Our Environment has taken a beating up until now but things are changing and we are seeing more and more sustainable packaging like the jars in which my sauce comes, they are 100% recyclable. We all play our part, what’s good for us is good for environment.
Since starting my journey out on the Supervalu Food Academy Programme the knowledge I’ve learned about the Food Retail Business has been invaluable with encouragement and support if needed. You see that hard work pays off and the Academy team are there to support you in any way they can to bring you and your product on to their shelves.
