We run an organic farming business on our family farm in Kilthomas, Ferns, Co. Wexford. Our land has been farmed for generations, and today it supports a diverse, fully organic system. At present, we produce organic lamb, organic cereal crops, and organic oats, while part of the farm is also managed as forestry, supporting biodiversity and long-term sustainability.  Building on this foundation, we are now developing the next stage of our business — establishing future organic vegetable production on the farm. 

Our new vegetable range will focus on organic salad leaves, beetroot, and carrots. These vegetables will be grown using sustainable organic methods, harvested fresh, and packed in small batches to ensure consistent quality and flavour. A hands-on, careful approach at every stage will allow us to deliver produce that reflects the health and integrity of the land. 

Sustainability is central to everything we do. The farm is certified organic by the Irish Organic Association, and we are committed to using fully recyclable packaging for the vegetable range. Growing and packing directly on the farm will keep food miles extremely low and help minimise waste. Our mix of organic livestock, cereals, oats, future vegetable production, and forestry creates a balanced and environmentally responsible farm system.

As the business grows, we hope to create local employment and support the community through local sourcing and responsible land management. 

The SuperValu Food Academy has been instrumental in supporting the development of our new vegetable enterprise. The programme has helped us refine our branding and marketing, and provided vital support in financial planning and budgeting. SuperValu has also connected us with experienced mentors and fellow producers, creating a strong network of guidance and shared learning that has been invaluable to our progress.
