BRAZEN
BRAZEN Chilli was founded by Ken, a hot sauce enthusiast from Cork. With a background in Food Technology, Ken has always been passionate about creating bold and unforgettable flavours using all-natural ingredients. His journey into the world of hot sauce began in 2021, inspired by the popular YouTube show “Hot Ones.” Ken initially used his brothers as a cost-effective source for consumer insights and sensory panel tastings, which helped him refine his first three products. From there, BRAZEN Chilli was born.
All of BRAZEN Chilli’s hot sauces are handmade in small batches at their production facility in Glanmire. The sauces are named in the order they were created, and each product showcases Ken’s commitment to bold flavours and high-quality ingredients. The company’s first experiences with selling its products began at local craft markets, which have continued to be an essential part of their marketing strategy. Due to the nature of their product, the biggest challenge was getting consumers to taste the hot sauces. Farmers' markets provided the ideal opportunity to engage with the public, introduce the product, and receive direct feedback.
The Food Academy program has played a pivotal role in helping Ken and BRAZEN Chilli grow their brand. Through the program’s workshops and mentoring, Ken gained valuable insights into the retail business and learned how to navigate the complexities of product development, marketing, and distribution. The exposure provided by the program has been invaluable, allowing BRAZEN Chilli to introduce their sauces to a niche market with confidence.
