Bonny Bó

We are the Nally family, and in 2023, we proudly launched Bonny Bó Milk, our small, family-run dairy business based just outside Athlone, in the heart of the Midlands. With a deep-rooted passion for dairy farming, we take pride in pasteurizing milk from our own herd and delivering it directly to you, the consumer.

Dairy farming has been in our family for generations, and we are committed to producing fresh, high-quality milk while maintaining the highest standards of animal care and sustainability.

Our milk is pasteurized in a purpose-built facility on our farm and transported just five minutes away for sale to the public. Unlike conventional milk, we do not homogenize ours—allowing the cream to naturally rise to the top, just as nature intended. Pasteurized in small batches and delivered fresh, our milk has the lowest possible "milk miles," ensuring unparalleled freshness. Customers can purchase our milk through a self-service vending machine, using reusable glass bottles that can be refilled time and time again. This system supports a circular economy and significantly reduces plastic waste. We are proud to be a Bord Bia-certified farm and are actively working with our local LEO to improve our energy efficiency. In just a short time, we have already achieved significant recognition, winning silver at both Blas na hÉireann 2024 and the Irish Food & Drink Quality Awards 2024.

Being accepted into the SuperValu Food Academy was a tremendous confidence boost for us. While we always believed in our vision, having industry experts validate our business was invaluable. The program has provided us with crucial knowledge in areas such as food safety regulations, labelling guidelines, and marketing strategies—information that would have taken years to gather on our own. Additionally, we have been given the opportunity to achieve an academic qualification through TU Dublin in food product development and HACCP management. Beyond the technical knowledge, the Food Academy has connected us with a supportive network of fellow food producers, allowing us to share ideas, troubleshoot challenges, and build lasting relationships. The program has fuelled our ambition and given us the tools to grow, ensuring Bonny Bó Milk continues to thrive.
