Black forest crepe recipe


Chocolate flavoured crepes, with kirsch flavoured cream and black cherries, an adults’ delight.

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Cooking time: 2 minutes


Serves: 6 people

  • 50 g Butter
  • 50 g Caster Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 3 - Fresh Egg
  • 25 ml Kirsch
  • 200 ml Milk
  • 2 tbsp Milk Chocolate
  • 250 g Plain Flour
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 250 ml SuperValu Cream
    freshly whipped
  • 1 tbsp SuperValu Sunflower Oil
  • 0 - Syrup
  • 200 g Tinned Black Cherries


  1. Mix together the dry ingredients, and create a well in the centre.  In a separate bowl mix together the eggs, milk, melted butter and pour into the flour mixture.  Whisk to a smooth batter.
  2. Brush a little oil onto a pan and ladle some batter onto the pan.  Swirl the batter to cover the entire base of the pan, then cook for 1 minute and check the edge of the pancake, it will lift from the pan when ready to flip.  Flip and cook for a further 30 seconds then remove from the pan.
  3. To make the kirsch cream just gently fold the kirsch into the whipped cream.
  4. To serve, place the crepe onto a plate and spoon some of the flavoured cream into the centre, fold in the sides and spoon over some black cherries.  Drizzle with some syrup if desired.
  5. Sprinkle with some grated chocolate.
