The Collins family opened their first small store in the town of Carrigaline in 1856 and since then have grown the business to the 30,000 square foot store that employs over 150 people locally today.
The Collins family have been heavily involved in community related sponsorship through the years with their latest donation being a substantial contribution to the new Carrigaline Youth Centre which opened June 2015 via the Carrigaline Lions Club. The picturesque youth centre on its own grounds in the heart of the town will not only has the facilities for the youth of Carrigaline to enjoy but will also house Carrigaline Family Support, Foroige, Cork Citizen Information Centre, youth café and youth clubs.
Collins SuperValu are also the main sponsors of Carrigaline GAA Club, Carrigaline AFC soccer academy and Carrigaline Tidy Towns. Plus, supporters and sponsors of Marymount Hospice
The family owned Supervalu is one of the biggest and most established Supervalu stores in the country. In their 150 years in business, the Collins family have seen huge changes in consumer trends but have always managed to stay ahead, making the shop one of the longest established family run stores in Ireland.
