Speaking about the awards, wine connoisseur Thomás Clancy said “ SuperValu’s wine offering is in a period of startling advance and SuperValu Blackrock, Co. Dublin is at the absolute pinnacle of the dedicated wine and spirit outlet. There is a hint of Harrods, with enomatic machines offering an extensive range of wines for tasting. There is Classed Growth Bordeaux, Grand Cru Burgundy, icon New World wines and a wall of wooded cased wines. A spirits section offers everything from Tullamore Dew on special to €300 reserve Midleton and an array of Scottish and international spirits. There are also pour-your-own- taps for those who want to buy or reuse their own quart or growler bottles for beer. Things have never been better for those who enjoy a glass of good cheer”.
Commenting on the awards, Eamon Howell, Trading Director, SuperValu said “We are delighted with the acknowledgement of the great work that has been put in throughout 2015 by both our wine and off-licence team. It was a year that we were more adventurous and put enormous effort into giving our shoppers a range that is unrivalled in terms of choice and value. We have selected some of the best wines and partnered with some of the best wineries around the world to ensure our ‘Specially Sourced’ wines are best in class. In addition to wine, our team are well ahead of changing shopper trends in beer and spirits with new ranges of Irish whiskey’s, premium gins and craft beers all enhancing the overall shopper experience.”
