craft beer & Christmas cheer
For fireside
sipping
If you’re looking for one final
beer to finish off the feasting,
go for a heavy-hitting special
winter edition beer, sipped in
a snifter.
Shepherd Neame Christmas Ale e4.00, 7%
This is the big hitter to bring out at the end of the night, but
do keep an eye on the high ABV. It has plenty of bubblegum,
fruity and spicy aroma and flavour to cut through any rich
holiday food you pair it with, or just slowly sip it on its own.
Ham
A fruity red ale is a good
complement to a traditional
glazed ham, which is both salty
and sweet. An Oktoberfest
märzen lager would also be a
good match.
Kevin
Dundon’s
King’s Bay
Irish Red Ale
e3.50, 4.7%
This red ale is
on the sweeter
end of the
spectrum, with
lots of toffee
and caramel.
One to pair
with your
Christmas
ham for a
classic salty-
sweet contrast.
