Although Champagne is white,
it’s made with the red Pinot
Noir grape. The grapes
are gently pressed and the
skins are separated out early
in the process to give a
white wine. Traditionally, Pinot
Meunier, another red grape,
is also used as well as the
white Chardonnay grape.
