White Soda Bread

Delicious toasted or fried also!

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 3 cups Self-Raising Flour
  • 150 mls SuperValu Buttermilk Amount varies depending on how much is needed
  • 1 tsp SuperValu Salt

Method

  1. Sieve flour, Baking powder and salt into a bowl. Stir briefly. Add enough buttermilk to bring together in soft dough.
  2. Knead briefly, just enough to get smooth surface . Shake a little flour into 9 inch round tin and put dough into it.
  3. Cut a cross on top. Bake at 200 degrees for 45-50 minutes until cake sounds hollow when tapped on bottom.
