Tomato and Basil Pizza Wheels

  • 4 tbsp SuperValu Fresh Basil Chopped
  • 100 g SuperValu Grated Red Cheddar & Mozzarella
  • 12 tbsp SuperValu Tomato Passata

For the Pizza Dough

  • 300 g Strong Flour
  • 1 tbsp SuperValu Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp SuperValu Salt
  • 200 mls Water Lukewarm
  • 25 g Yeast


  1. Preheat the oven to 220˚C/440˚F/Gas Mark 7. 

  2. Grease and dust with flour a round tray and set aside.

  3. Split the pizza dough into 4 and roll each out on a lightly floured surface.  Spoon 3 tablespoons of passata on the top of the pastry then add some fresh basil and cheese.
  4. Roll each pastry sheet tightly into a scroll and slice the scroll evenly into 6 x 2 cm thick pieces.

  5. Place the pieces onto the tray and bake for 6 -12 minutes.

For the Pizza Dough

  1. Add the strong flour, dried yeast and salt to a large mixing bowl.

  2. Mix the lukewarm water and the olive oil together and add to the flour.(If you have some basil pesto you could use 2 dessertspoons of it instead of oil)

  3. Mix the dough thoroughly and then move it out onto a floured surface and knead it for 4-5 minutes or until it feels light and springy under your hands.

  4. Transfer to a clean bowl and cover well. Leave it to rise for about 30-40 minutes or until the dough has doubled in size.
