Make this ultimate Sicilian sandwich with deli ingredients.

  • 1 jar Roasted Red Peppers (480g) drained
  • 1 pack SuperValu Fresh Basil leaves picked
  • 500 g SuperValu Italian Meat Antipasti
  • 400 g SuperValu Mozzarella (or provolone or cheese of your choice) freshly grated
  • 180 g SuperValu Pesto
  • 250 g SuperValu Semi Sundried Tomatoes
  • 1 tub SuperValu Signature Tastes Kalamata Olives
  • 300 g Tom Durcan Spiced Beef Joint


  1. Cut across the top of the load, removing the 'lid'. Scoop out the soft inside leaving about a 1cm wall of crust. The bread from the inside is great for making breadcrumbs.
  2. First, spread the pesto on the inside of the bread bowl and lid, then start building up the layers, alternating the ingredients until you reach higher than the edge of the loaf. Sit the lid on top and wrap the whole load tightly in cling film. Refrigerate for a few hours, until chilled and quite firm. Using a sharp knife, slice it into wedges and serve.
