Ají is the South American word for chilli pepper. Most South American cuisin is not served spicy, so the ají is served on th side for people who prefer to spice up their food. This recipe can be blended and bottles to share with friends. Some like it hot!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Lime Juice
  • 0.5 - Onion finely chopped
  • 1 - Red Chilli deseeded and finely chopped
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp SuperValu Fresh Coriander chopped
  • 0.5 - SuperValu Tomato finely chopped

Method

This recipe will make 50ml

  1. Make sure you discard the seeds from the chilli, but if you prefer your sauce to be extra hot, then you can add them in at your own risk.
  2. Combine the chilli, tomato and onion with the lime juice and salt in a small bowl. Let all the flavours blend for a couple of hours or overnight. Stir in the coriander just before serving. Ají is usually served in a small bowl with a teaspoon for serving, so chop the first three ingredients as finely as possible.
