Seafood Suppers By Niall Sabongi

Growing up and residing along the picturesque Dublin coastline, my life has always ebbed and flowed with the tide. My father, a restaurateur himself, instilled in me a passion for culinary excellence and a profound respect for Irish produce from an early age. The sea has served as both my playground and pantry, guiding me through foraging, diving, and the culinary arts. This deep connection inspired the creation of my multi-award-winning restaurants: Klaw, The Seafood Café, and the Salty Buoy, each paying homage to the bounties of the Irish sea. 

 In 2013, I embarked on a mission to strengthen our bond with the Irish seas by founding Sustainable Seafood Ireland (SSI), dedicated to supplying my establishments and a growing network of like-minded businesses with quality, sustainable seafood. Through SSI, we celebrate our marine heritage and support local fishermen, driven by our core values of transparency, traceability, and sustainability. 

In addition to my business ventures, I've collaborated with Trinity College to revive ancient Irish recipes, infusing them with modern flavors. As a father, I've taken this commitment to heritage a step further with 'Seafood Suppers by Niall Sabongi.' This initiative simplifies the seafood experience for families, making it accessible and enjoyable. At its heart lies our signature Smoked Haddock Lasagne, a dish embodying family, flavor, and the essence of the Irish sea. Crafted from fresh, local ingredients in small batches, each meal is prepared by hand using classic cooking techniques to recreate a high-quality restaurant experience in the comfort of your home. 

To empower more families to enjoy and confidently prepare seafood, 'Seafood Suppers by Niall Sabongi' offers educational resources, including easy-to-follow recipe cards and online cooking demonstrations, guiding them through each step of the process. By transforming beloved classics into new seafood favorites, we aim to dispel the intimidation often associated with seafood preparation, making sustainable Irish seafood a staple in households nationwide. 

Guided by the principles of sustainability — local, ethical, and sustainable — our efforts extend to eco-friendly packaging, reducing food waste, and promoting low food miles. We contribute to the community by creating jobs, supporting local charities, and serving as a beacon of social responsibility. 

Our partnership with the SuperValu Food Academy has been pivotal, providing guidance and expanding our reach, enabling us to introduce more Irish families to the authentic flavors of our seas. 

As a recognized 'Food Champion' for Fáilte Ireland and a familiar face in the Irish media, my role transcends the kitchen. I am deeply committed to enriching Ireland's culinary identity and fostering a love for our aquatic treasures.
