We are a family farm located in Moanmore, Fenagh, Co. Carlow. The Salter family have reared pigs, geese, sheep and cattle since our farm was established in 1625. At present Thomas, his wife Ola and their two children, Harry and George, all take part in the running of the farm. Our animals roam freely outdoors. They are free to exhibit their natural behaviour and grow slowly to full maturity. They find shelter in warm straw bedded huts. Our pigs are hand fed with grain grown on our farm. We have a variety of breeds including Tamworth, Saddle Back, Gloucester Old Spot and others.
Our premium artisan sausages are handmade using free range pork reared on our farm. Salter’s 80% meat content sausages are made with natural casings using a family recipe handed down over six generations. The range includes Traditional Sausages, Pork & Apple Sausages and Italian Sausages.
We strongly believe that the way we treat our animals creates the superb quality and flavour of our meat. Our goal is to provide our customers with premium, artisan, free range sausages directly from the family farm in the heart of the Carlow countryside.
