Popsy Daisy was founded in Dublin in 2016 by Maureen O’Donnell, an American IT geek and environmental enthusiast turned food entrepreneur. The company is an artisanal gourmet snack manufacturing business making great tasting caramel popcorn products by focussing on local ingredient partnerships and ethical business practices. There are three flavours available for retail and food service: Whiskey Salted Caramel, Maple Moose Munch, and Vanilla & Chocolate Stout. Popsy Daisy has a strong environmental ethos and is a verified member of Origin Green.
SuperValu has helped us as a business in two really important ways. By sponsoring the Food Academy Programme they have provided us access to invaluable resources, supports and a route to market that we wouldn’t otherwise have. We have matured in our planning, processes and systems as a direct result, and that gives us the foundation we need to grow nationally and internationally. The other primary help from SuperValu is being an affordable source of organic products and promoter of sustainable business practices.
Popsy Daisy aims to be a socially and environmentally responsible business. In addition to creating jobs through trade and supporting other SME businesses through ingredient partnerships we have committed to giving back to the community through our CSR initiatives. In 2017 we are participating in the National Spring Clean and have proposed a schools competition intended to raise awareness around food packaging waste.
