The company was started while studying on an MBA programme at Trinity College Dublin. Our goal was to find a solution to tackle the health of the ecosystems on which we and other species depend is deteriorating more rapidly than ever the very foundations of economies, livelihoods, food security, health and quality of life worldwide and our oceans. We wanted to create and develop solution for consumers who are looking for a more natural and sustainable source of nutrients food products by using a natural resource from the coastline. The product was designed with a key focus on being Zero waste, with the idea that any waste from the manufacturing process and the bi produces can be used in the Pharmaceutical, Agri, and Medical industries which can be used as compost, animal feed and medicine. Our first product is called “the Irish seaweed Burger”, the benefits of Seaweed are sometimes too long to list, seaweed is super is low-calorie, crunchy, salty, and super nutritious, its high in iodine, iron, vitamin C antioxidants, soluble and insoluble fibre, vitamin K, vitamin B-12 and a range of other nutrients important for human health. The fact that it’s plant-based and high in protein means that the product has many health benefits including weight loss and helps the environment!

Ireland has a long tradition of eating and using seaweed, as an island surrounded by beautiful oceans, nature is so giving and abundant and from spending my summers as a child in Enniscrone Co Sligo on the West coast of Ireland, I’ve been intrigued by seaweed, I love everything about it... This plentiful nutrient dense resource can nourish us from head to toe inside and out and can also be farmed inland sustainability. We hired a food consultant to help us design of the product and a after few trials and errors “the Irish Sea Burger” design was born. We decided to test the product at festivals and markets over the summer months to get feedback from the consumer. The product is manufactured in Hours kitchen in Dublin where we rented an incubator space. Over the last few years we have had an overwhelming response from our customers about our story which gave us the confidence apply for a place on the food academy programme. The programme has provided us with an incredible opportunity and the invaluable mentorship and now looking forward to our product reaching the shelves in SuperValu stores.
