Cillian Sheanon started Cillian’s Food in his first year studying Commerce in UCD. Cillian always had an interest in healthy food, but when he learned of a skin condition he had, he was forced to adhere to a strict diet. Out of this grew his love for healthy food, and by extension Cillian’s Food. He operates the business from his family home in Killiney and produces all his products in the Newmarket Kitchen in Bray. Cillian now has combined two of his passions; business and good food to create a sustainable company.
Cillian’s was a small college venture that Cillian enjoyed working on, however after beginning the SuperValu Food Academy, Cillian quickly learned of the potential that his health food business possessed. The Food Academy assisted him in unlocking this potential and now, he has chore structures in place like marketing, finance and production that allows him to further expand the business, thanks to SuperValu.
He employs one part-time kitchen staff and also provides free Nut & Seed Bars to the local Cuala GAA Club every Saturday. He supplied the All-Ireland Club Hurling Champions team Cuala all year through their Championship campaign.
