Inspired by their son Api, Maria and Andre founded Api’s Chocolate in 2010. Their experience comes from the chocolatier industry across Europe - Belgium and Paris. They have run their café in Portlaoise for over two years, specializing in a variety of luxury handmade truffles, pralines, fudge, dried fruit, liqueur-based chocolates and hot chocolate drinks making them uniquely their own. Their aim is to provide the best in premium hot chocolate drinks and to give the satisfaction of the real taste of cocoa to their customers.
"Without the Food Academy's help, we would never have gotten into retail.We received lots off mentoring and help from them which we needed to finish our hot chocolate drinks to be suitable for retail.
We would like to grow our business and employ more people. We intend try to help others by creating employment and giving advice to small producers like us".
