Introducing…the Open Gate Beers, from the brewers at St James’ Gate.
114 years ago, we started our first small experimental brewery at St James' Gate. In a facility barely big enough to make beer from a single acre of barley, our team of brewers were given free rein to dream up new recipes, tinker with old ones and test different ingredients to bring delicious new beers to life.
In 1963, the experiment grew into the Three Barrel Brewery, then in 1985 we upgraded to The Pilot Plant, a shiny new facility capable of brewing 20 barrels. In this same building in 2015, the Open Gate Brewery was born. And today our gates are open for you to come on in and have a taste.
Or you can head for Supervalu and get your hands on the latest three beers from the Open Gate Brewery: Citra IPA, Pilsner, and the non-alcoholic Pure Brew.
Citra IPA is full-flavoured, packed with hops, but balanced with refreshing tasting juicy citrus. Bitter citrus flavours underpinned by floral notes & finishing in biscuit taste and clean bitterness. A great for beer drinkers who are looking to experiment in beers but want to ensure they choose a quality liquid.
Pilsner has the added depth of flavour you'd expect from Guinness. A clean taste with a full bodied and rounded mouthfeel with a mild bitterness complemented by subtle citrus note and a crisp finish. Great for beer drinkers who are looking to experiment in beers but want to ensure they choose a quality liquid.
Pure Brew is a crisp, refreshing triple hopped lager at 0.5% ABV. Triple Hopped lager with clean malty citrus notes, this is for beer drinkers who are looking for low alcohol options without sacrificing taste.
