Years ago my friend Pauline showed me this trick. I got rid of my deep fat fryer and never missed it for a minute.

Serves: 0 people

  • 0 - Garlic
  • 0 - SuperValu Fresh Rosemary
  • 2 medium SuperValu Potatoes


  1. Peel 2 medium potatoes per person.
  2. Cut into chunks, dry off in a tea towel.
  3. Put on a cooking tray, drizzle with about 1 tablespoon of cooking oil.
  4.  Toss the chips in the oil and put into a preheated very hot oven.
  5. After 10 mins take them out and toss again, put back into oven for another 10 mins.  Take out and serve immediately.  They never fail.
  6. If you like you can use a few sprigs of rosemary and some chopped garlic as well it adds a wonderful flavour.  In Italy the call them Patate al forno (oven potatoes)
