Pesto recipe


A really simple sauce to prepare and it can be used as a quick pasta meal or as a spread on a sandwich. Recipe courtesy of

Serves: 4 people

  • 0 - Black Pepper
  • 0.5 clove Garlic
  • 0.5 - Lemon
  • 35 g Parmesan Cheese
    finely grated
  • 100 ml SuperValu Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 bunch SuperValu Fresh Basil
    leaves only
  • 50 g SuperValu Pine Nuts


  1. Lightly toast your pine nuts and allow to cool.
  2. Add your garlic and basil leaves to the blender. Pulse then add your pine nuts and pulse again. Transfer to a bowl.
  3. Next add in your grated parmesan and gently stir in the olive oil and lemon juice. Season to taste and add some more oil if required.
