Green protein smoothie bowl recipe

RECIPE OVERVIEW

This power bowl is what breakfast dreams are made of! It’s basically a really thick smoothie that's topped with whatever you have to hand, then you devour it with a spoon. After eating this bowl for breakfast, you will not only feel full for hours and have satisfied a sweet craving, but you'll also have done something that was good for you. Double whammy! This is a great brekkie after exercise and it works perfectly in a jar or container for a breakfast on the go.

Ingredients

Serves: 2 people

  • 3 tbsp Linseed
    (ground flaxseed)
  • 1 tbsp Protein Powder
    of your choice (we use pea or brown rice protein)
  • 1 tsp Spirulina
    or matcha green tea powder (optional)
  • 450 ml SuperValu Apple Juice
    or coconut water
  • 1 - SuperValu Avocado
    halved and stoned
  • 50 g SuperValu Baby Spinach
  • 250 g SuperValu Pineapple
    (fresh or frozen) or mango

Method

1. Put all the ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth. Pour into a bowl and top with whatever you like. We love goji berries, bee pollen, granola, cacao nibs, fresh berries, fresh mango…you get the idea!
