Simple fast oats recipe

RECIPE OVERVIEW

This breakfast is high in protein and fat, which is ideal for athletes who need that extra boost. If that's not you, though, just omit the optional protein powder. 

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 2 minutes

Ingredients

Serves: 1 person

  • 1 tsp Coconut Oil
    or rapeseed oil
  • 2 tbsp Greek Yoghurt
  • 1 pinch Ground Cinnamon
  • 100 g Mixed Berries
    if using forzen berries, just place them in a separate cup and microwave for 1 minute)
  • 50 g Porridge Oats
  • 1 tbsp SuperValu Goodness Mixed Nuts
    chopped, or milled seeds
  • 30 g Whey Protein Vanilla
    (optional) use your favourite flavour (1 scoop)

Method

  1. Place the porridge oats in a serving bowl and pour in enough water to just cover the oats. Cook in the microwave for 1 minute.
  2. Remove from the microwave and stir in the berries, whey protein (if using), Greek yogurt, milled seeds and oil (if solid, the coconut oil will melt in the warm porridge). Mix well and sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon. Serve straight away
