Start your day the healthy way with this delicious fruit smoothie. This recipe contains flaxseed which is naturally high in fibre and omega 3 fatty acids. This smoothie will give you all the energy you need in the morning.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Agave Syrup or maple syrup
  • 375 ml Coconut Water
  • 5 - Ice Cubes
  • 0.5 small Lime juice only
  • 20 g Porridge Oats
  • 1 small SuperValu Fresh Organic Raw Beetroot roughly chopped
  • 100 g SuperValu Frozen Mixed Berries such as strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and/or blackberries
  • 2 tbsp SuperValu Goodness Flax Seed
  • 1 small SuperValu Peach or nectarine, stoned

Method

  1. There's no need to peel the beetroot if you scrub it well. Simply place all the ingredients in a blender and blitz for 1 minute, until completely smooth and creamy. 
  2. This can be made in advance and stored in the fridge overnight for a grab-and-go breakfast - just give it a stir before serving.
