Ingredients

  • 100 g Hoisin Sauce
  • 200 g Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 50 ml Rice Vinegar
  • 100 ml Sesame Oil
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds preferably toasted
  • 60 ml Soy Sauce
  • 2 inch SuperValu Fresh Ginger grated
  • 2 cloves SuperValu Garlic
  • 3 cloves SuperValu Garlic crushed and finely chopped
  • 700 g SuperValu Quality Irish Chicken Drumsticks about 3 per person
  • 1 tsp Tabasco Sauce

Method

  1. Pre-heat grill to medium-hot. In a small bowl, combine the hoisin sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, Tabasco and finely chopped garlic. Stir to combine and spoon out two tablespoons to set aside. Pour the remaining sauce over the chicken drumsticks and toss to coat.
  2. Grill the drumsticks, basting for the first 15 minutes with any sauce left in the bowl and turning with tongs every 5 minutes or so to prevent burning. If the wings start to burn, turn the heat down to medium low. Continue to grill until all the drumsticks are cooked through, 20 to 25 minutes.
  3. Combine mayonnaise with the crushed garlic. Transfer the drumsticks to a clean bowl, toss on the reserved sauce, sprinkle on the sesame seeds, and serve immediately with garlic mayonnaise.
