Emergency Home Assistance

This is a free* service included in your SuperValu Home Insurance policy that offers you immediate assistance in the event of a minor household emergency.

A minor household emergency is considered an unexpected incident that interrupts the immediate security of the home or the working of an essential service.

For example: A broken window, a water leak, pest infestation, locking yourself out of your home, leaking radiators etc.

It is not a claim and therefore your premium will not be affected next year or subsequent years.

What is not covered

Pre existing issues that have not suddenly arisen and have been ongoing. For example: A leak from a roof that has been ongoing for some time
The inner pane of your double glazing has broken but the other and outer panes are intact
Boilers that are not serviced or maintained as per manufacturers instructions

How it works

Step 1

Call 0818 253 347. Available 24/7, all year round including bank holidays.

Step 2

An approved trades person will visit your home within 24 hours.

Step 3

The issue is fixed or patched to ensure no further damage.

You can avail of this free service up to 4 times a year. Each claim provides a maximum cover of €250 for labour, parts and materials including Vat. This amount increases to €500 for roofing.

Important Gas Leaks

Bord Gais remains the first point of contact for any Gas or suspected Gas leaks.
Our service cannot dispatch a tradesman to support you until a Bord Gais engineer has inspected the issue. Bord Gais should be contacted immediately on 1800 20 50 50

Further Support

If your emergency requires a longer term fix are or additional work we’ll give you expert advice on what should be done next. We can arrange for a qualified tradesperson/engineer to quote you. If you accept the quote you then pay the engineer directly.

If you need overnight accommodation due to your home being unfit to live in, you will receive €100 towards overnight accommodation.
